Travel: The things we keep (ii)
Christian Scanes offers a different version to the one I posted a few days ago... incredible how the music makes a whole different mood...

Travel: The things we keep
"If i could examine someone's keepsakes on display in a home, what would it be like if these objects could communicate their sentimental value to me?"
This is what Christian Scanes asks himself on this video..."I wanted to know what it would look and feel like to walk into someone's home and discover that the objects inside are able to express themselves through the lens of an augmented reality, with a particular focus on memory and personal relationships."
And he explains that "the urge to create this was motivated by the experience of relocating from copenhagen to los angeles to san francisco to new york in a very short period of time, resulting in this visual survey of a limited number of objects that one keeps; be they gifts from friends, found objects, thrift store purchases, books, pamphlets, etc. souvenirs from a particular time and place.
The things that we keep become objects invested with extra meaning during times of transitions and frequent departures. they are the constants."

Sometimes you gotta say good bye
Sometimes you gotta say good bye
Sometimes you gotta click your heels and fly
Oh, Sometimes you got to know that it's best to let go
Oh, Sometimes you gotta click your heels and fly
It sure was hard to say goodbye to you,
but it sure was the right thing to do
Oh a weight is off my chest
I can lay my thoughts to rest
But it sure was hard to say goodbye to you
Oh it sure was hard to say goodbye to you,
Oh it sure was hard to say goodbye to you.

Bel & Heartbreaking Goodbyes
Oh, my last postcards from USA!
I ended my magic year, my thirteen months of dreams ...
Here I´m sharing one of the last photos of my last day in Boston, in the middle of a snowstorm that caused closure of roads, highways, airports and fear not me make it to NY to take my plane. Finally, they opened some roads, and since they were empty, I managed to arrived to JFK with plenty of time to accommodate luggage and pay just under too much, haha!
Well, as I said, these are some of the latest postcards I´ve been writing during the recent roadtrip to California and in my last days in Boston ...
Oh, I'm going to miss the snow so much!! And Starbucks and the sushi just around the corner! My nail polish, and my favourite breakfast: blueberry muffins and ice-coffee .... I better not to continue with the list of irreplaceable treasures my life in New York and in the US got me everyday ...
Above all, I´m afraid I´m gonna miss myself. The Bel that I really am. Not the one that others want me to be, just the one I am, and that I set free during my New Yorker Life. I gonna miss New York, but I will also miss Bel & The City...
Today is my first morning in Buenos Aires. And I had my first awakening. Pretty ungrateful.
I woke up with the horrible feeling of suffocation. That horrible feeling that only countless layers of blankets and a strong heater can cause you.
I woke up thinking I had to turn off the heat. And for a second before I open my eyes, I felt I was there. I felt I was home.
But soon I realized that in fact the storm of the night had lowered the temperature of this sticky summer in Buenos Aires. And I was in my other other home, my birth home.
My life in New York is now just a part of my past... that I will leave behind little by little...

My life in New York is now just a part of my past... that I will leave behind little by little...
And now as I write this and look at my photos of My New York, I think "I want to stay, I want to stay, this is my life now," but every time takes less time to realize that actually I'm back to Buenos Aires, and I don´t know when I´ll go back to my city, my big apple that chose me and that I chose: (

California: I´m Loving It
Holaaaaaa
Here I am in California, a day away from saying goodbye to my beloved 2007, that because of Time Zones, will be three hours longer for me! Fantastic!
I spent a lovely Christmas, but we didn´t celebrate Christmas´Eve. It was kind of strange, but ok. So we celebrated Christmas over dinner on the 25. We had Russian food over Anna´s and everything was wamr and cozy. It was so much fun! Oh! I got a new camera for Xmas!!! It´s pink, it´s sony, and I´m loving it!
After celebrating Christmas, we rented a Car in Vacaville -where we are staying at Jean´s apt and drove for a few days to Los Angeles, San Diego and Costa Mesa. We drove through the desert and of course along the Pacific Coast. PCH is awesome! I throw garbage at Leo Di Caprio´s mansion in Beverly Hills and got lots of pictures with sculptures by Noguchi. Got plenty of food and got to see great scenarios.
Back to San Francisco, we did a night tour of Alcatraz and walk the halls where Al Capone walked... It was foggy and scary...
Today we went to Napa Valley, a beautiful area full of wineries, where I had some wine tasting experiences and tours. I think it was the best day of the trip! Beautful landscapes, good wine, chilling out outdoors, just great!
Tomorrow I will be visiting the SFMOMA (Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco) and then closing the 2007 at Anna´s beautiful Russian home. But this time, we will try to grill asado (BBQ Argentina´s way). But we did ask Anna and her mum to prepare the Olivier Salad, because it´s soooo good!! It´s funny that we call that recipe Russian Salad in Argentina and they, in Russia, call it Olivier Salad, after the chef that created it.
Well, I hope everyone enjoys the last day of 2007 and begin 2008 with the right foot !!!!!
Californian kisses and best wishes!!

Bel & Postcards & Goodbyes
I´ve sent my first postcard of the year!!!
I´m not sure if I had mentioned it yet...
Anyway, I truly regret not having started it before!
Now, I have only few months left on this hemisphere, snif snif So sad!
I will miss my life here so much!
So, this first set of Postcards came from Ottawa, Canada.
I´ve also sent from Montreal and Quebec, but I didn´t take pictures...
Oh, as a reminder of my forthcoming days in Buenos Aires, I´m including a Tourism Ad from Argentina that I found in downtown Ottawa.
Au revoir!
Bel
PS: OMG, I will miss NY so muuuch!!!

me alegra tanto escuchar tus promesas
mientras te alejas
saber que piensas volver algun dia
cuando los sapos bailen flamenco
y yo te espero ya ves
y con mis labios en tus dedos
para no pronunciar las palabras qe dan tanto miedo
te vas y te pierdo
me alegra tanto escuchar tus promesas
mientras te alejas
saber que piensas volver algun dia
cuando los sapos bailen flamenco
y yo te espero ya ves

Bel & Carrie´s apt
Hello, hello!
So, in the last day with my friends, we did a Sex & The City tour! We visited lots of location spots throughout the city... Carrie´s apt, Magnolia´s bakery, etc.
Enjoy the pics below!
